Mt Shutt Day 3, & The Coolest Guy In The World

This just isn't funny anymore. Again everyone gets up and gets into their ski gear. Its blue skies, not a hint of wind, and what seems like a perfect day.
Snow Report : Mountain Closed due to avalanche and broken power cables.
We can't believe it and start to wonder if they will ever open it. The town is full of eager people waiting to go up the mountain. We all settle in for another day watching videos.
At about 12pm, Luke (an Aussie staying at the hostel) and I decide that we have to got out boarding and plan to drive his car to the foot hills of the mountains and find a slope to walk up. Sam and Ally (Lukes girlfriend) decide to come with us. We drive for a few kms and turn up at the bottom of a nice slope with 1/2m of powder snow on some fram land. We ask the farmer permission to climb his hill and board down, he thinks its a wicked idea and lets us do it.
1/2 hour later we have trudged up the hill and slid down. We see Murray (the farmer) ploughing a quad bike through the snow on the hill opposite, not thinking much of it we start to climb the slope again. Until Murray drives up to us, he explain that he has plouged out a track for us on the other hill, and offers us his quad bike to use for the rest of the day. He shows me how to use it then turns round and walks back to his farm house. Sam and I are in shock, that has to be one of the coolest things anyone has ever done.
I spend the next 5 hours running up and down the hill having the best time of my life, giving everyone lifts on the bike.
We returned the bike at sunset and offer some petrol money, he totally refuses and tells us to come back tomorrow if the mountain is shut again.
After a dissapointing morning we ended up having one of the best days of our travels so far.
