Mt Shutt Day 2

The alarm went off at 7am, we had already made a packed lunch and got all the gear ready the night before for a day on the mountain. Having woken up the see the snow in the middle of the night and no wind everyone was buzzing waiting for the bus to arrive to get up the mountain and get those first tracks.
7:15 am and Heather - the hostel owner walks in with news that killed us all - the mountain was closed AGAIN!
The road up to the mountain was blocked - they had recieved 1 meter of new snow overnight!
After we all sat around the fire and grumbled for an hour we saw the brightside and went outside to build a snowman. It was still chucking it down with snow and Methven looked amazing!
Then the power went out. Everyone rushed to the supermarket to get the last of the hot pies then we all returned to the hostel for a day of pictionary, monopoly, videos, beers and alot of talk about skiing.
We are staying at a place called Skiwi house, which is an great little place with a big open fire, and big comfy sofas. Everyone in the hostel is really great, and we cant think of a better place to be snowed in.
It snowed all day and by the end we had 50cm of snow outside the house.
Tomorrow is going to be a perfect day on the mountain.
