Hair Transoformation

It always happens to me. I go in to the hairdressers having firmly made up my mind that I want something, and the hairdresser says "Oh no! But WHY? It won't suit you. Please don't make me do that! Please Nooooooooooooooo!"
So the 1st time I went to the hairdressers yesterday I had a mad hair cut which is very Dallas, and at the same time I found out I have semi-curly hair already (odd). I came out feeling happy that my hair looked curly and big as planned.
One bottle of wine with lunch later and I was feeling like I hadn't made a drastic enough statement and was still searching for something, so I went back in the afternoon and got blond streaks!
Oh and I have a fringe too. So I managed to end up with a bit of all 4 options on the blog, wavy hair, that's big, with a fringe, and bits of it are platinum blonde.

Now...I wanted to put a picture on but I'm afraid you'll have to wait. My hives is playing up again and I woke up looking like I'd had a litre of collagen injected into my upper lip, it looked riddiculous! Move over Leslie Ash!

You poor thing, still suffering with that horrible complaint.
Does it still itch? I bet it's driving you crazy.

You must get the semi curly hair thing from me. My hair was almost straight when younger but got wavy as I got older. You need to get to the root cause of those hives. Is it bites or an allergy?

Sarah I could NEVER have a pout as good as yours!!!
We tried to get to the root of the hives but there sometimes isn't one. It is definitively an allergy mum! Not bites!
We tried cutting out dairy, alcohol, and body creams, Chris, and the only one that seems to make a little bit of a difference is alcohol. I refuse to believe that I could be allergic to that!!!
It is a little bit worse were there is pressure, like around boot marks.
The docs here just prescribe antihistamines and steroid creams, but it keeps coming back. Ruth I'd massively appreciate it if you could pick Johns sisters brains on it (we can send photo evidence but there's no way it's going on the blog!)

Hello there

stumbled across your blog and have been an avid follower for months, infact this is more exciting than any book Iv'e ever read, that I don't want your travels to end!!!!

Yesterday at work I called an ambulance, for a gentlemen who came out in what looked like hives, it was an immediate reaction and looked really really bad, it turns out he was visiting the UK and had, had his clothes drycleaned and he was allergic to the starch they used to iron his shirt!
Take a look at this

Washing powder/Shower Gel even a change in moisturiser can have an effect on some people.

Hope you feel better soon and look forward to your next entries.
Safe Travels!

Reckon you're allergic to anything that makes you blonde - remember last time???
As you know, Steve and I have some great wigs - my latest is a black Marge Simpson-style wig.....
Can't wait to see the hair, but not sure about wanting to see the hives......

Thank you so much to anonymous, what you said about Hives was really interesting and useful. We will give it a go. We have been trying to eliminate foods, creams, etc but hadn't thought about washing powder. Looks like Sam has an excuse to go blow our budget on a new outfit to wear for a whole week. The difficulty in finding the source of the problem when travelling is that everything is always changing.... different climates, diet, water, washing powders, and every shampoos because you can rarely buy the same brand twice when you move countries...
We have switched to using Benadryl to try and combat the hives, but after 2 nights it is looking worse. The most upsetting thing for Sam is that it appears on her face. Her lips and eyes swell up. I swear people we meet must think i hit her!
On a better note, thanks for reading the blog, its really cool when you hear of people stumbling across it, and even better that it's one of the best things you have read. It keeps our motivation up for writing it.

No problem

The paramedics also mentioned Make up and Body Lotion can also cause a reaction! ( as well as a million other things) but that a food allergy you come out more like a strawberry all over and an allergy to a particular thing is usually centralised in certain areas.
Good Luck
